Low AMH 5.4

Just looking back at this post from 2 years ago and thought I would update! I did have a low AMH result when I was 35 years old - 5.4 or 0.75 - depending on which scale you use. I thought it was game over. I was devastated and I can honestly say it was one of the worst days of my life. But I went ahead with IUI anyway. It already has a low success rate (16%) so thought it was a waste of time but there was a glimmer of hope. Although the 1st cycle was unsuccessful, I produced 4 eggs (almost too m...

Marcie - thank you for your message. I know how lucky I am to be seeing in the new year with my gorgeous daughter. So different from last year when I had just had a BFN with no idea when I would be able to afford another cycle and very little hope that it would work. I hope so much that next new year you are sitting with your little miracle too. I am sure that 2013 will be your year and I look forward to hearing your good news. Baby blue - I am so happy that you got a BFP, and without any tx. En...

Sorry there has been so much bad luck recently. I've got everything crossed for you all that you have some good news in the near future. One bit of good news now is that my little IUI baby - Amber Violet Rose was born on Weds 12/12/12. 2 1/2 weeks early but just perfect :-)

IUI Chat 2012

Hi, just wanted to say good luck to everyone on 2ww at the moment Marcie - I'm so pleased you are ready to try again and have everything crossed for you - there is no reason that this shouldn't be your time. Hope you are well and feeling positive Slyfoxy and Hopefullysoon - best of luck to you both and I hope the 2ww is bearable. I was terrible during both of my 2ww's, I just couldn't relax at all, but also found it a very exciting time and tried to remain positive. Hope you both get a BFP as an...

Has anyone found a clinic in any country at which IVF including medication cost less than £2,500 - £3,000?

Have you considered IUI? I paid £1500 per cycle for my IUI with donor sperm - that included everything, the treatment the sperm and the meds. I, thankfully, only needed 2 cycles so spent around £3000 in total. I am 36 and have low ovarian reserve and now 34 weeks pregnant. IUI can work and it's much less expensive and a much easier process than IVF. I had my treatment at the South East Fertility Clinic in Kent. Hope this helps, there aren't many single people on here so if you want to message me...

Congratulations Blue, that's fantastic It's great you got a natural BFP. I didn't have acupuncture the first time but I did the second and I got my BFP. I don't know if it helped or not but it can't have hurt. It is very quiet here, I hope if there is anyone considering IUI they give it a go. It worked second time for me, I was 36 and had a low AMH. I am now 32 weeks and feeling some sharp jabs in my ribs from the baby I never thought I'd have

Hope this is the right place to post anyone have any info on CMV tests?

I am CMV negative too, I think about 60% are positive, so still quite a lot that aren't. In fact the other 2 people I know that had donor IUI were also negative, so it's not that unusual. Yes, it did slim down my donor pool a little. I had a choice of about 6 donors, but that was fine it was enough choice for me. I would never have taken the risk of having a CMV positive donor (not would the clinic allow it) as contracting the virus during pregnancy can cause miscarriage. I am a teacher so am pr...

** FIRST TRIMESTER CHAT **

I finally feel confident enough to join in the chat here! Had my first scan today - 1 perfect little seen today at 7w 4d. It was magical, saw the little heart beating on the screen and the baby even moved. Growing exactly to size - so happy Wish I could enjoy the first trimester a bit more tho as I've been feeling so rough Still, should get better in a few weeks and of course, it's all worth it!

Yeah, donors are in quite short supply now I think. I was happy with my selection though - to be honest any more choice and I would have never made my mind up. I was on suprecur and menopur then ovitrelle as a trigger. i didn't find those meds too bad. I had some ovary pain, but that's to be expected as the follies are growing nicely. I was probably a little bit more tired than usual and maybe a bit more emotional, but nothing too bad as I wasn't on them for long. The second time however, they p...

IUI Chat 2012

Hi Mchops - I've also just gone through 2 cycles of donor IUI as I'm single. I just got my BFP after the second cycle. I didn't have a waiting list as I went private (there is no funding in my area for single people). I had a choice of about 6-7 donors - not that many but I am CMV negative which narrows the choice a bit. I had medicated cycles and thankfully I produced 4 eggs the first time and 2-3 the second. I think IUI is definitely the best choice if you have no known fertility problems as i...

Hopefullysoon - I'm so sorry that you've been having a rough time. Don't think all is lost yet though. I know that this cycle hasn't been good and the bleeding must have scared you as it's unexplained, but none of that means you can't conceive. I hope you get some more answers from the clinic soon. Try to stay strong, this is such a hard journey but don't give up just yet.

A few hours early but it came up straight away (before control) and it's soooo dark!!!!!!! Can't believe it - actually can't. Obviously, it's very early days but am so happy. It's great to have another for the IUI board - see it can work, but I also know i've been so lucky for it to work 2nd time Come on Marcie and Hsoon, you'll be next.

Hi everyone HSoon - I'm sorry you had to cancel this cycle it must be so frustrating to go through all of the build up for it to come to nothing. Have you been able to get any more answers from the clinic about what went wrong? They should at least be able to find the time to discuss it with you I think. I hope your next AF starts soon and you can get the next cycle started. Well, I'm still waiting. No spotting or signs of AF yet which is good, but I know that last cycle I started to spot on thi...

Hopefullysoon- sorry to hear about your Grandpa Do you know any dates for your IUI yet? Hope there is no clash Marcie - hope you are doing OK and staying strong. I'm bored of waiting already I am OK at the moment as I know it's to early for symptoms, too early to test and my AF definitely won't come just yet - so there isn't much to stress or obsess about. I'm 5DPO today so am working up to implantation stage of there has been a successful fertilisation - am taking it easy just in case. Have lot...

IUI Chat 2012

Hi everyone Marcie, I am so, so sorry. I hope you can stay strong and look to the future but I know how hard that can be. Allow yourself time to grieve and be sad though and take a little time out for you. I'm thinking of you DFC - I have the same problem with travel time to the clinic - it's an hour and a half away by car but as I don't have a car I go by train and the trip is 2 1/2 hours each way! Difficult but not unmanageable. Work was understanding as I'm a teacher and can't just book time ...

Hopefully soon - thanks and I hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your AF Ama - definitely test on test day. I've heard so many stories of people who bleed (even heavily) and are still pregnant. Don't lose hope. I have nothing to report really. A few twinges in my ovaries which is hopefully a good sign. Finished work today for 2 weeks It's the Easter holidays from school. This was the whole idea of having the treatment at this time - so I could relax during it. Looking forward to the...

Hi everyone - hope you are all enjoying the gorgeous weather I went out without a coat and sunglasses today - it just seems to make everyone so much happier. Had baseline scan today and all seems good - lining thin and just one small cyst which shouldn't be a problem. Injected first suprecur tonight and start on menopur tomorrow. First post stim scan next Weds so fingers crossed.
