Chicago test in Athens

Hi all, Just wanted to add that you can get the chicago test done at only £ 300 at Serum IVF in Athens. Just flew down there from Denmark. Also had intralipids done at only £ 80. X

Basis for changing clinic?

Dear Jenny, Thanks! My eggs were mature they said, but didnt fertilize. I had been on max dose menopur for 17 days and down reg, so my theory is that the eggs were overcooked. Just so sad that they dont take responsibility, and are SO quick to blame my age, after having only seen 2 eggs of mine in the lab. Ive read that Orgalutran should be given from day 6-7 of cycle to prevent surge of LH. I was given it on day 14!! Love F

Basis for changing clinic?

Dear all, Im feeling so let down by my clinic today and would have changed clinic if I hadnt already paid for a package of 3. Ive only had one stimulated IVF done, which ended in mature but unfertilised eggs. This month they told me to take a month off from hormones. However since it looked as though I had 2 follies naturally this month they urged me to do natural ivf. They only gave me 4 days worth of Orgalutran. On ET saturday one follie turned out to be a cyst, the other had already ovulated. ...

Elonva anyone?

Well Maria, not all doctors are clever doctors, so just cause your doctor prescribes you something or recommends you a certain protocol it doesnt mean he is right. There are good and bad doctors, and I was certainly described a protocol, before the new Elonva suggestion, which didn't work for me. Isnt that what these forums are for: that women can help eachother because of the vast sea of their collected experience?? Thanks!

Orgalutran doesnt stop me ovulating, what to do?

As the headline suggests, Ive had bad experience with Orgalutran. Was supposed to have my first natural-IVF egg retrieval today but the egg had already ovulated despite being on Orgalutran for 4 days leading up to taking the Ovitrelle. What do I do? Does it help to take it for more days prior to ET?? xx

Down regulation detrimental to egg quality?

Dear all, have any of you any evidence or experience to suggest that down-regulating before stims can cause bad egg quality compared to a short protocol? Thanks!

Elonva anyone?

Have any of you tried the relatively new drugElonva with success? My new doctor today recommended I try it next cycle cause its good for women with low anthral follicle Count. He seemed very enthusiatic about this. Ive heard it can cause 'overstimulation', but this isn't an issue I guess if you only have 8-10 follicles at AFC? Thank you all! xx

Organic IVF?

Thank you Mrs Edward, real nice of you! I eat organic when I can get it, but you can get most things organic here in Denmark, even in normal supermarkets. Happy wishes for you too wherever you are in the pregnancy process! xx

high dose menopur - affect on "older" eggs!?

Have these guys never heard of low stim for 'older women'? Low stim i supposed to not destroy quality as max doses can. Best of luck!!

monitoring

Dear Rianon, they dont monitor u here in Denmark, they scan you and keep stimming untill eggs are big enough. The monitoring you have tried sounds wonderfully thorough, wish it was like this here....

Too much hormone and egg quality

Thanks RB 76! When u say you stim better on Gonal, do you just mean you make MORE follies, or also BETTER follies? My doctor, unfortunately, has something against Gonal F, as he seems to think it ruins egg quality. And he would never admit that it could be his high dose Menopur that ruined my eggs last month.

no monitoring

Thank you Rianon! No they dont monitor your hormone levels here during stims, they just want your FSH and AMH before starting treatment. I only had 2 eggs retrieved out of 3 mature follicles, so Im hoping it was just a bad cycle, but I have a feeling it was the very long and very heavy-dosed cycle. Im having a cycle off hormones and have 2 eggs, so I might go for ICSI with 'Eco-eggs' next week. xx

LH and women over 38

Well, according to IVF doctors Jeffrey Fish and Dr Sher at Sher Fertility in USA, women above 38 are never given hormones with high dose LH as too much testosterone is considered detrimental to egg quality. So dont always trust your doctor, since all doctors are different, with different levels of talent and ability as in any line of Work. Ive done my own research after having been on 17 days of max stim Menopur and no fertilisation at my first IVF here in Denmark where the trend is to give olde...

Too much hormone and egg quality

Hey everyone! I was wondering if any of you very experienced ladies has some knowledge on how detrimental it can be for egg quality to get too much hormone-stim or the wrong sort? I just had my first IVF last month and had no fertilisation. Its not a sperm issue, since Im using donor sperm. I was on Down regulaton for 2 weeks, then 17 whole days on max dose Menopur - my eggs grew REALLY slowly on this hormone. At retrieval the lab technician said they looked good and mature. But after 2 days non...
