Daily Routines, The Witching Hour and Sleep.

Hi Everyone, Just seen the post about the play kitchen. We got our little girl the ikea kitchen for Christmas and it is fabulous. Wooden so sturdier that a plastic one and everyone I know who has had a plastic one have said its been wrecked and this one seems to be hard wearing. £60 for base kitchen and you can get a microwave bit for the top which is £30 but well worth it! Hope this helps xxx

Advice please about sperm extraction??? Very confused

Hi there, Just to give you hope, my hubby is currently feeding our 8 month old who was an ICSI baby and his vasectomy reversal failed and they extracted his sperm in Feb 2010 and we didn't have our treatment till December 2010. The clinic we went to first always said you had to have fresh sperm however the clinic we went to for our treatment that worked used frozen sperm. Check with your clinic however if they use fresh they should at least do his extraction or a test extraction before you embar...

how many calories do i need to be eating while breastfeeding?

I think you need an extra 500 calories a day in addition to your normal daily intake. I never experienced lack of appetite but do know that you need these calories to successfully breastfeed. Also I carried on taking pregnacare which is meant to be taken whilst breastfeeding as I think this definitely helped too! Good luck and also see if you have any "breast mates" classes in your area, normally free or small amount to go along and they really helped me in the first week when I struggled and I ...

Continue with vitamins or not?

I carried on taking pregnacare thoughout my pregnancy and well into breastfeeding too, still taking a vitamin supplement now! It can't do any harm and it can help you fight nasty bugs if you have your vitamins!

Weight Watchers & IVF???

Hi there, When I was on ww and going through treatment I told my leader about it as your weigh in is normally private (unless your sil sits on your shoulder). Also how will your sister know you haven't lost anything.....just be a little bit dishonest with the truth and say 1lb here and there and she won't be wiser!! Good luck, we caught 3rd time lucky with our gorgeous girlie who is now rolling around the floor and attempting to sit up!! It can and does happen so keep the faith!!! The time it wo...

Feeds per day

I think your routine sounds great. I feed my 15 week old every 3 hours in the day and then at the moment she goes to bed about 8am and tends to sleep straight through till 8 so the way I see it is I feed her when she is hungry in day and that helps her go through at night. I personally let me baby lead me with her feeds and sometimes she goes longer (4 hours) and sometimes wants feeding after 2.5 hours. Some people want a stronger routine than that but I think I do have a routine so think you ar...

Oxford Fertiltiy CLinic experience/open days/

We had our third round on Treatment at the OFU (the first two rounds we were at Bath Clinic and they both failed) and our third round was successful and resulted in our little girl, Ruby being born 9 weeks ago. I too can highly recommend OFU, very personable and very friendly nursing staff (I was very upset on my treatment as I only got 6 eggs but the male nurse told me it is quality not quantity and he was very right). I too like Phoebe stayed at Premier Inn night before embryo transfer as it w...

Returning to work - rights?

Hi there, Your company can refuse as long as they give one of the reasons listed on the business link website. I work in HR and normally we have always come to a compromise but sometimes it has been a refusal and the company do not need to find you anything else! Only thing I would say is if there were advertising a different job n 4 days and different salary etc you should apply. Try and see if there is a compromise!!!!! Good luck x

SSR

I imagine what he means he is they have retrieved "usable" sperm. My DH has been thro SSR 3 times now and the first 2 were used fresh straight away to fertilise my eggs but the third time (our lucky time) they took it and froze it and then a few days later defrosted a small amount to see if it would survive the defrost which it did and now I am 22 weeks pregnant If you have any more questions let me know as it is all very daunting xxx

Why do I never get past day 10 before bleeding?

I am the same as you as well, always have bled 4-5 days before test day! They just tell me it's one of them things!! Good embies going in but zilcho!!! Taking a major break at mo!! I'm actually believe it's better for me not to get to test date as I sometimes think it's very cruel getting to test date and it being negative and then having to wait a while for Af, if that makes any sense at all!!! People tell me to keep going but if I was in your shoes I would get different opinion, I'm changing c...

Good clinics for thin lining issues

Hi Beanie, I'm sorry to hear you got a BFN, I thought it was your tome with all the preparation and ACU you been having! I don't know of any clinics but didn't know if you had looked into Bristol or Oxford clinic! I'm changing for my next attempt as feel I need to change something, it may not make any difference but at least I know I would have tried everything I could have done! Does Argcc specialise? I know they are good with immunies! Big hugs, hope you ok xxx

Just found out our clinic has some of hubbys sperm frozen that we didn't know about! Advice needed

Thanks Girls, I have just drafted a letter and will post to them tomorrow. We are happy in a way that they have some sperm but wish to demand answers as to why we were never told. I have mentioned the £1,000 in the letter but if I am honest I doubt they will give us anything back but I haven't enclosed any money for the sperm storage as I have told them not to do anything with it at the moment, the least they can do is provide that for free seeing as they ripped us off totally!!! Thing is now th...

Just found out our clinic has some of hubbys sperm frozen that we didn't know about! Advice needed

We went for our trial pesa/tesa in April 2009 and the clinic told us we didn't have any to freeze! We then had treatment in May 2009 and October 2009 and hubby had pesa/tesa both times as we were never told any different! Both ops cost £500 each! We had a letter yesterday from the clinic asking what we wanted to do with our frozen sperm samples that were taken in April 2009??? We didn't ever realise and we were never told they ever had any frozen sperm!!! We are both quite angry as we could have...

How many is a good amount of fertilised embryos?

Hi there, ICSI usually has around a 50-70percent fertilisation rate so you are doing really well! I am in same position as you (hubby failed reversal), not sure if I am talking rubbish but as they pick one sperm to fertilise the egg you will have used 4 sperm for this so the count shouldn't really matter!! Everything crossed for you xxx

hot bath during DR & Stimming?

Think lyns meant to say the baths following ET shouldn't be hot! Apparently embryos cannot control their own temperature so it's best to avoid hot showers and baths! Just cool showers and baths instead! Good luck xxx
