does no side effects mean drugs not working?

Hi LGC, I had lots of side effects, and I did respond fairly well, but I think the side effects were more an indication of my body being very sensitive, and not handling drugs too well. I'd take it as a good sign that you handle the drugs well. Good luck!

** ACUPUNCTURE CHATTER **

Hi Diaemus, I also have a lot on my lower legs and feet - and quite a few on my tummy. Depends on what the acupuncturist thinks you specific problem is, I suppose.

pregnancy cook book

Hi Daisy, I'm not even pregnant yet, but I good friend has given me a book she liked using during her pregnancy - the gentle birth method, by dr Gowri Motha. It guides you through pregnancy, and has a lot on what to eat, and what to avoid, and lovely recipes on healthy food in the last chapter! Also has lots of tips on massages you can get DH to give you during the pregnancy, and preparing for birth. The whole method seems a little too much, but I loved the recipes and the tips for the massages....

help me boost my sperm count

Hi, I'm afraid I don't know about vitamines, but hubby went from subfertile, with very low motility to excellent results. We've just got the third SA back, and it's even better. He almost stopped smoking, started eating a LOT better, leading a more regular, healthy life and does more exercise. So there's probably room for improvement through lifestyle changes. Acupuncture can also help, I think. Good luck!

IUI Chat 2011

Hello girls, Sorry to hear your news, Grumpy. I cross my fingers for the next round. Ailly - I only have a paper photo, but my guess is it looked a lot like yours . As for the size, I'm not really sure. Around 20 mm? You're right abuot the sexy underwear - or maybe I should greet him stark naked? A bit unsure as to what would be the most efficient.. When are you testing? Lollygirl, Heather and Stace - how are you?

IUI Chat 2011

Hello girls, very unexciting news from me I'm afraid. I've already started the ovulation process, so consultant wanted IUI for Saturday. BUT DH is not home on Saturday, and it's too late to do the injection to postpone ovulation. Best we can do is make love on Sunday night... Sigh. After five days of stims I have one nice follicle, and 11 mm lining, which looked good. (I have a photo lol). I suppose there's comfort in that. How are those on the 2ww? It's hard work!

IUI Chat 2011

Hello everybody, I hope you re all having a lovely weekend. Good luck on the 2ww for those who are there, and for those who got their BFN. I ll be starting injections on Monday, first scan on Wednesday. Keep having nightmares about forgetting to inject myself, and having low fertlisation (as if I were doing an IVF). And this is only the beginning... It s a very tough journey, but I m sure it ll make us stronger, better persons in the end, even though I wish nobody had to go through it. Just as a...

Endometriosis and Diet

Hello, I also see an acupuncturist who says it can be kept in check with acupuncture. Search for a good one though - I've seen a few, and whereas one was lovely, and it was very comfortable, I realise she was of the "spa-kind" now that I've found the hard-core version. Good luck!

** ACUPUNCTURE CHATTER **

Hi Snoopy, I think it depends, and you should ask your acupuncturist. There's no standard treatment, because every patient is treated individually. I went once a week for a few months - but then again my system was completely off kelter. Afterwards I've only been every two weeks, and I think it'll be every three weeks in a little while. Good luck!

Oh, you don't sound cheesy at all. I go for five hugs a day! And it's good for both of us. Depends on whether hubby is of the huggy kind or not, I suppose. And on that note for everybody! Sorry, I have no experience with nasal spray. Starting gonal f on day 8 of my cycle.

IUI Chat 2011

Good morning, Ailly, Stacygirl and Allybongo, Pompadom, Lollygirl and Namea. I am not alone in feeling like a number, I see! I dreamt all night about not remembering when to do the injections - I'm terribly confused, although I'm sure it's quite simple, really. Good luck for those of you heading for insemination. And best of luck to you, Namea. The results are far better with IVF, I think - here's hoping it will bring you your bundle of joy Have a lovley week, everybody!

IUI Chat 2011

Hello girls, how are you doing? When is the insemination, Ailly? As it's my first round, I have no idea what the numbers mean. Are you happy with the results? Just getting my head around all the things I have to remember for this first cycle, is freaking me out. AF came today, so tomorrow I need to make an appointment with consultant, and get the gestone. Start injecting on day 8. (And send off the paperwork for funding...) How's everybody else? Gumpy, I see you're on the dreaded 2WW...

IUI Chat 2011

Hello everyone, I thought I'd see what was happening on the IUI-thread. I'm (finally) taking the plunge and starting treatment, after a rather long quest for a non-medicated pregnancy. But no luck, so Gonal here I come. Waiting for my period - and will start injecting gonal on day 8 of the cycle. Then they'll monitor the follicles, and when all is good to go (let's hope there's neither too many nor too few) I have to take an Ovitrelle-injection to lay the egg before the insemination itself. I ha...

Pregnant and Nearer 40? Anyone?

Maybe I can come and play with you too? I've just turned 38, and we'll hopefully have our first IUI in not too long. (Waiting for my squirmish better half to get a bloody blood test done to be honest), and if that doesn't work it's IVF. Time flies is such a cliché, but so true. A friend of mine ended up with a surprise pregnancy at 42, one month before giving a first and final IVF a go. She now has a beatiful baby boy. Happy and healthy pregnancy Peony, Itchers and Chatterbox (you're all an insp...

Alcohol - to have or not to have?

Hmm, I'm curious. What's with white wine? Never heard this before. Is the French wine lobby keeping this a secret? I heard some horrible news on the radio this morning - 1/100 child born with brain damage does so because their mothers drink during pregnancy - this is in France though. Gave me goose bumps. Poor bubs. (there's red wine in the glass!)

I'm a bit worried we have bed bugs... help!

Tam Jam, bed bugs bite!!! But only 25% get a reaction... or sth like that. Which is why the landlords didn't know they had bedbugs before I moved in. Blue: maybe I can drop by for a test????? Have you looked at photos of bites on the internet? Flea bites (eh, yes, I've had those too - thank you mrs Pigeon living on my window sill - I will never again save your eggs...) are a little different and do not come three in a row... (I think that's a bedbug thing, I'm so sorry Blue!) God, why do I know ...

I'm a bit worried we have bed bugs... help!

Hi there, sorry for my scary description... Have you done a thorough check of the mattress? At one stage (far gone) I could actually see them, and there were also tiny, tiny specks of black (their poo) which is a give away for bugs - not sure if that only applies to bed bugs. They would stay away at day time though, and only appear at night. (God, I've got goose bumps just writing about this). I think you might be able to catch one or two by putting a bucket of hot water in the middle of the roo...
