TTC naturally post successful ICSI

Hi I hope you don't mind my nipping in, I was just having a browse through the forum. I managed to conceive naturally after 2 failed IUI, and an IVF, and initially being recommended ICSI for next cycle. I changed my consultant who recommended a high protein, low carb diet, omega 3 and co enzyme q10. Hubby on a mans multi vit too for his slow swimmers. Both hubby & I took supplements, and I started acupuncture. I lost over 20lb in 3 months, had big internal body changes (without going into tmi te...

Raw apple cider vinager

Rallygirl... honestly, the lemons seem to be working. I too have the bending down issue (among millions of others!) but so far, I can only report an ease in my symptoms, which believe me, is the closest thing to a miracle cure for the horrid few weeks I've had. I havent had any midnight/ early morning gaviscon fixes since friday night.... on Sat after I st lemon drinks I just had double gaiscon advance dose before sleep and voila.... All I have at the moment is 1/4 of fresh lemon juice each time...

Help! Flatulence! (TMI ALERT)

Oh Rallygirl, I just literally laughed out loud It does seem as though we have more than heartburn in common!! These pesky hormones are something else huh?! Mine was particulary bad when I had to take some lactulose to ease the blockage (apologies for again tmi!) and I actually heaved a few times at the smell..... I just wanted to say, " I'm hearing ya sister" I did find that eucalyptus oil in an air purifier helped combat the linger, but I can only suggest drinking more water to help the ol tum...

Raw apple cider vinager

Nic & Mrsjasper thank you for your replys Mrsj, I'm with you on the thought that we need those friendly bugs, and I'm sure that if unpasteurised was that bad, half of the worlds population would have been wiped out by now! I'm just a bit wary, nervous, scared of "doing something wrong" and downright bloody uncomfortable ! I have tried the milk, eating natural yogurt like its going out of fashion, chewed on raw ginger, more water, and constant repeat prescription of Gaviscon, but I am one of the ...

Raw apple cider vinager

Ladies (and the odd gent too that may be prowling the forum on this rather boggy saturday?!) Question for you.... Raw apple cider vinager, would you or wouldn't you? ! My heartburn has been just simply horrendous, and at week 25, I am rather depressed to think that boiled chicken and rice will be my staple food for the net 14/15 weeks?! My friend, who is a nutritionist, is a massive fan of raw apple cider vinager, and has given me a small amount to try should I wish to, but she did say have a lo...

Preparation for attending the ZHAI CLINIC, LONDON - any feedback on this organisation?

Hi Mrsbeaver, I have no experience of the clinic in question I'm afraid but I didn't want to just read & run. After a years if being fobbed off by western medicine and thousands spent on iui & ivf, I am now a complete eastern medicine convert and bother my lovely acupuncturist with most things, especially as she helped us with our BFP after just 5 sessions. I hope that this new clinic can help restore your faith and your much awaited BFP also. Wishing you lots of luck Blue

Help...Scared of IUI

I had 2 rounds of IUI and was terrified as I know that my cervix can be a little tricky (?!) but due to the timings in your cycle, and the added hormones that you are taking, your cervix should be soft and slightly open ready to receive the goodies. Pease don't think its going to hurt like a smear, I found them to be so much more gentle than the usual gp practice nurses! And this time they are giving you something special rather than scraping something away. In my clinic I'd managed to see the ...

Secondary infertility

Welcome to the lovely I was trying for 5 years for # 2. Initially we were told it was down to DH's sperm, and that my odd cycles were nothing to do with it......(?!) We were told that ICSI was our only option by a GP, which was then followed by good enough results for 2 IUI's, we tried an IVF cycle which was a big dissapointment, I finally changed consultant, changed my diet, started taking a suppliment and saw an acupuncturist for 5 sessions....we finally got our BFP all by ourselves! I know t...

Cherlou, I'm glad you are finally getting tested, I have quite literally got everything crossed for the both of you. As far as I can read anywhere the headaches are normal pregnancy related, I have had loads, and have been using that 4head rub on stuff which helps a little. It's just hormones :/ Thinking of you x

Fifth disease and pregnancy?

Moogle, have you got your midwife's number? Mine sends & replies to txt messages, yours might?! Or nhs direct or even your Hosp maternity switchboard number? Just a chat with someone in the know would at least give you proper advice rather than the dreaded google..... ( we used to have a medical book, and my siblings and I ranged from self diagnosing glaucoma to dvt for a bruise ?!) Honey, give someone a call.....they will advise what's best to do. I hope that fantastic Fin gets well soon and so...

Struggling

Hi Sarah, I too had a struggle with needles. Luckily my DH was able to do my first treatment ones for me, but I ended up having to do them myself when the clinic wanted me to do them at different times than he could help with. I remember sitting for half an hour needle in hand an tears streaming down my face- in the end I did them all myself Weirdly it felt like it was the one thing I was in control of!! Give yourself plenty of time and keep telling yourself why your doing this. You will get the...

Chicken pox??!

I have a question .....I am 7 weeks pregnant (Hurrah), but should I be worried that my friend has been round with her toddler, and I ony found out just before they left that he had had chicken pox?? Only a few spots left on him so you wouldn't know, He was at the "crusty stages" so from memory, he should have been fine, but now I'm working up to a panic as to wether I should phone the quacks?? Obviously my BFP is still very much under wraps otherwise I doubt she would have been round had she hav...

New to the forum and just starting to try to conceive as a single woman

Hi Lucina, Welcome to Everyone is so very supportive in here It sounds like your clinic may have given you worst case scenario as you may not need thre IUI's. Have you nipped into the IUI thread? A lovely lady on there was in a similar situation, and she managed her BFP on her second go. I do hope that your journey is a short one I couldn't agree more about the costs involved at a private clinic, I was more than insulted that as I managed my BFP by myself I have to pay £150 for an early scan, re...

Thank you Rene for your kind wishes Jbomo, Firstly, I am sorry for your losses... BUT, welcome to the IUI thread, it does get a little tumbleweedy in here from time to time, but Rene is always about for advice & support (thank you Rene!) As you can see from my last posts, I am the worlds biggest Acupuncture fan right now. Western medicine didnt work for me, but Eastern got me where I am now in just 10 weeks (ish!) Is this your first ART treatment? I orginally started ACU so to combine it with th...
