HOW IT FEELS - RANT CORNER

Eeyore I totally feel the same...I find this time of year difficult, but this year is worse, as I no longer have the "this time next year..." hope, as my treatment journey has ended. Lots of things of the last few weeks had slapped me around the face-"you'll never wrap up presents for your child" "you'll never see your own child in a nativity play" "you'll never build a snowman with your child" I too would swap my 'quiet Christmas'( everyone always says oh lucky you!!) for the chance to be with ...

Thyroid levels

Just asking on case I need this information. I have anti-throid antibodies and have been put on Thyroxine in order to lower my level to under 2ul- which it was last time I had it checked. However, if I am fortunate to get a BFP how soon should I get my levels tested? As I have read that women do need to increase their thyroxine level during pregnancy. Anyone out there with experience of this? Thanks Natsch xx

IMMUNOLOGY CHATTER

Hi fellow immunies My et was fab', we went down to the theatre and the embriologist came out and she showed us a photo of our little bast! (both DH and I filled up) She said that usually when they have been frozen they shrink and can take a while to get going, but that ours started expanding straight away and was beginning to hatch out of it's shell. She said that was very rare to see but that it was really good!! ET itself was the best ever, it didn't hurt at all and 'things went in smoothly' S...

IMMUNOLOGY CHATTER

Hi Amy- Did you have your intraplids today? How was it? Hi Liz- Maria is right the immunie tests are expensive, but I wished that someone had told me about them sooner, as then I wouldn't have gone through 5 tx and wasted all that money and time! There's no guarentee that they drugs work, but it is reassuring in a way that there is a reason as to why you might be getting BFN- That's how I feel! May be worth finding out a bit more and may be reading Dr Beer's Book Love Natsch xx

about to start first immune cycle

Hello Have just taken delivery of my first lot of immunie drugs and OMG! I feel quite scared now! So just looking for a bit of reassurance I guess. Brief history: 5 cycles (3 fresh 2 frozen) 1 m/c and 1early loss. This is our last frozen embryo, as we had need ICSI , and have used up all DH swimmers! We moved from Bourn Hall to Nottingham CARE and saw Dr George Ndweke, got a protocol and then he left. I haven't done a cycle since August 2010 so feel a bit out of the habit! So thought I'd pop in ...

where do we start ?

Hi Hun I know what you mean about putting a spanner in the works, but I'm sure they have to be a bit more realistic and understanding about relationships, and understand that things aren't always black and white. Micheal Gove said a couple of weeks ago, that he was going to attempt to reduce some of the beaurocracy and aim to get children who are in need of a loving family, out of care and in to homes. I hope this is true. I understand that social services have to be careful but they need to red...

where do we start ?

Hey Hun Long time no speak. so sorry to see your news. I know that feeling... we attended an adoption information evening recently and it just made me feel 'lost' and out of time. Our situation is very different, as my Dh is a lot older than me and is self employed, (having previously worked abroad for 25 years). The information evening was informative, and they talked a lot about the type of children who come up for adoption. The majority of children in our local authority have been 'taken' from ...

What is a baseline scan?

Hi nicster baseline scan is when they check whether everything has gone quiet i.e. your ovaries are dormant. I can't remember have far after DR it is and it's before stimulation. They need to see that they've put you into temporary menopause before they start to stimulate the follicles. I see you're at bourn hall- me too! Have had IVF ICSI fresh cycles and FET the staff are great! Hope that helps! Natschxx
