beakers

Thankfully we didn't have to go through the whole bottle palarva as DS was 10.5mths when he came to us...mind you the only bottle he got on with was the Tesco value one 80p a bottle!!!! I even have 2 of those unopened in my cupboard as he came with a few more bottle than I though he would and he was only on 2 or 3 a day. Now we just use one for his bedtime milk. I might palm off some of the beakers so there is one at my Mums one at my Dads etc for when we visit ten it's one less thing I have to ...

beakers

I think I know what you mean about the flip up spout.....DS finds those great for tipping water all over the place. Thankfully the 2 sorts I bought he seems to have the hang of but gets on better with the one aimed for older children. I think it's because it feels a bit more like he is drinking out of a proper cup which he loves trying to do given half a chance!! Milk he is still drinking out of his Nuk first cup thing he will drink it out of one of the other beakers but not as much. So at the m...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi sorry I haven't been on here for ages...I don't really know where the time goes!! Net - with DD poos, it can sometimes take a while for their tummies to get back to 'normal' even though they ae better in themselves. I have known some children who have had to go dairy free or restricted dairy for a couple of weeks after a bug to let their tummies get back to normal. DS had awful poos when he came to us and would quite often leak, but once I started to introduce cows milk (he hadn't had any at ...

Wanted: a Family of My Own - ITV

I have put it on my sky+ Wardie thinking of you hun....I too think these programs should show when things don't go to plan. I feel the same with anything on IVF and how it always seems to work for people 1st or 2nd time and that it all done. Never mind the years and years it takes others sometimes with no success

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi all DS had a lovely birthday a very spoilt little man!! So I have had the mammoth task of writing all the thank you notes!!! We went to Colchester Zoo on his birthday Iit was lovely! There was me, DH, DS, my brothers and my niece. One of my brothers has just had a 10 year relationship break up so he came to keep his mind of things and it worked pretty well until we were on our way home, then it was the first time my oldest bro and niece had met little man (sore subject) anyway was a fab day! ...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey Net, My DS ended up with a thrush type thing from his nappy rash (when I said it was bad the other week) I just text my HV she came round that afternoon and prescribed some cream for him that pretty much cleared it up in 2 or 3 days, plus try and keep it as dry as you can. Hope your DD is better soon bless her and you, it's been going on a long time now. Do you have drops for her eyes?? If you do and she still has it after so long it might be worth seeing if they will give you the ointment i...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey. Net ~ BBQ sounds FAB!! We nearly had to have a BBQ yesterday as went to put the oven on as decided to do some baking and the flippin over wasn't working!!! DH got all excited as he thought it meant he could put the chicken on the bbq! But convinced him to use the little top oven instead lol. So glad to read DD has settled at Nursery now, she probably will get every cough, cold, bug anything going at nursery for a while but in the end her immune system should be great!! Right, I best get on ...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Went to Docs as DS got worse but they gave him the all clear.....he does finally seem a lot better today just super crusty nose that he hates me cleaning but hey! We did have to get in touch with HV today as the last of the nappy rash thing had stopped improving, From what I have seen before with children I suspected thrush or that sort of thing. so she popped by this afternoon and had a look, agreed and prescribed some cream for him. Plus she wanted to pop by as we had our review meeting on Mon...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

all, I think I'm going to have to take him to the docs today, he was awful last night and starting to affect his breathing too, I would rather get him checked out today than end up at out of hours over the weekend. It's DS 1st birthday at the end of the month we had thought about doing an open house/party afternoon thing the weekend before his birthday, but when looking at who we would invite even the fewest amount of relatives we would invite is too many lol, plus fitting something in between ...

Last night woke up about 1:30 for a nappy change, when he woke up he was also full of cold and horrible cough bless him, he has had a tickly cough for a few days but last night and today its worse. DS is all sorted now thanks. So last few days the little monkey has had totally messed up sleep paterns tfor one reason or another and now thinks 3 or 4am is wake up time. Wakes up happy, chatting to his favourite teddy, once he has had his chat he starts banging the cot to get our attention. I really do think he is going go be a little terror. So cheeky at 11months. No telling what the terrible 2s will bring lol x

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey Net....with your DD age it could take a while to settle, not knowing her i really cant say. I know you probably hear it all the time but no child is the same......some children take to nursery straight off, some it takes time and one day will just click. I often find children are angry over it and rather than crying it's just shouting and noise if that makes sense. My niece started nursery at a similar age only done one day a week so took her a while but now she couldn't care less if her mum...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

I spent most of the 12years in the baby room (3mths-16/18mths) spent a year or 2 with the next couple of age groups up to about 3yrs. Work wise my heart stays in the baby room. But when I return in January I kind of want a lesser role.....less responsibility less stress and a damn sight less paperwork. I don't know if money wise that will be possible......but it will have to get weighed up against stress levels etc too. Fingers crossed it will work out, especially as DS will get funded 2's as he...

Thanks buzzbee......it was the wipes, his hands and face flared up majorly from them too as in a proper reaction rather than just aggravated.......ccertainly won't be getting them again. Tesco ones he is fine with.......good really as I have a few boxes under his cot.... Have you tried vicks on your DD feet then cover them at night time....I told so many parents at the nursery about it and seemed to work.....it even worked when DH tried it.......the things you get to know when working ias a nurs...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey thanks all. Yes I use metanium on him, I always recommend it to parents at the nursery where I work. Ooooo I remember hearing about the egg white thing before actually. I also only get fragrance free sensitive wipes which the Asda ones are (were)...they are now in the bin though, he also can't use Johnsons sensitive as they made him rashy too. Funnily enough my cousin couldn't use them on her children either. I went and got even more wipes today but the ones he had at his Foster home, might ...
