** FIRST TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hi i wondered if could tentatively join you on here. I got a BFP every day for the last 5 days following FET. BY my calculations that makes me 4w 1d which is absolutely wonderful in one way but terrifying in another. Im off to MC clinic tomorrow to start the extra hcg to try n support this pregnancy and im also on a higher dose of cyclogest and aspirin. im so so nervous its gonna all end. anyone else out there in the madness!!!

where do i go next?

Hi everyone i have posted over on the miscarriages board but thought i would come over here to ask you ladies for advise! To cut a long story short ive had 5 miscarriages all before 6 weeks following IVF. After alot of arguing with my gynae i got myself refered to the womans in Liverpool for recurrent MC testing. My lupus antibodies are high so i need blood thinners and in addition i also need HCG injections and high dose folic acid. Ive looked into the world of immunology a few times and really...

Need some happy stories!!

Hi Hun This is my 5th cycle overall (see my sig!) and I have to say I have never had anything other than 'excellent' embryos including two rounds with blasts. Despite this I am not a Mum. I have met so many ladies on my journey who have had embryos that the scientists said weren't 'quite so good' and they're in the mummy club now. On my first cycle I had a grade one hatched blast and my friend had a grade 4 day 3 embryo (4 being the worst). The clinic gave her the choice wether to transfer and t...

Failed icsi, what's likely to change?

jilly i think they will prebably do very little differantly hun. they may adjust your meds a bit but to get 13 eggs and have fertilization is all sign s you have all the ingredients you need to make that BFP. 70% of embryos are chromosonally damaged so the chances of it working after one try and relitively low. My consultant always says its a marathon over 3 or 4 cycles, not a sprint and the ladies who have a BFP on the first go are incredibly lucky!! )if im in the wrong mood i could batter him ...

Right where do i start???

Well i have had a bit of a development yesterday!!! Had a letter off my consultant to say he now thinks i should go and see him to discuss recurrent miscarriage testing I cant believe im excited over this but as far as im concerned it 'may' be the first step into getting some answers. I know he will only do the level ones and i will still have to go elsewhere if i need further testing but omg the fact that he is acknowledging what im saying is a minor miracle

Repeated Implantation Failure - looking for advice

hi scooby Im asking similar sorts of questions at the moment as ive had 2 BFNs and 2 MC's (both very early). If you look on the miscarriage association website there is a list of tests for recurrent miscarriage. If you can get those done through your GP (im going to take the list along and beg mine to do it) you can take them to CARE in nottingham and they will then decide what treatment you need or if you need level 2 testing. I have been emailing them about doing this and the level 2's cost ar...

Right where do i start???

thanks for all the replies im just so overwhelmed with it all and am gonna have to borrow to get these tests done. There is no way i can have treatment anywhere except my NHS clinic as paying for our last one crippled us financially. The good news is the rules have changed and i can now have another try. im hoping to persuade my GP to do the level ones as he is very good and give me all my IVF drugs. Im really not sure if its worth me having the levels 2's as there is no way we could afford Ivig...

immunity testing in the north west

Hi there Im from Wrexham and after my 2nd MC in 4 months and 4IVF i have decided to pay to put myself through immunity testing as my consultant in shrewsbury will not entertain such problems. Has anyone had tests around here?? i am so overwhelmed with the whole thing and have no idea where to start! thanks karen

Right where do i start???

After 2 IVF and 2 FET all ive been left with are 2 BFNs and 2 early losses and i have now decided i have to go for immunity tests. I posted here after my first MC but i went along with my doctor that it was 'bad luck' and here i am with yet another loss. Money is a major issue for me and i know we wont be able to afford the more intense treatments like IVIG but i have to have these tests so that I can decide wether to put myself through my last NHS IVF. The unfortunate thing is my consultant won...

Fertility Drugs- Can they be funded by NHS?

hi hun im in north wales and my gp just give me the drugs on prescription for my current ivf cycle! he didnt check with the PCT he gave me them out of his budget from the clinic. the PCT trust is going to say no if you dont qualify for an nhs go anyway. i think hes being a little mean. GPs also get a new yearly budget in april so if you dont need the drugs before then could you suggest you wait??? i think you just have to be very cheeky like i was hahaha

HOW MANY TO TRANSFER?

i had this forced on me during my first cycle for the same reasons your saying hun. i wasnt happy and tried to argue with them but they wouldnt have it. now the clinic have been doing blast transfers for 2 years they told me this week that the odds of a BFP are exactly the same for a single blastocyst or 2 day 3 embryos. the outcome is to get a BFP at the end of this and the fact that so many of your eggs are making it to blasto is a brilliant sign that you have all the 'ingredients' you need to...
