New law for over 40s

Does anyone know whether things have changed in terms of how many tried you can have in the NHS? I.e. if you have had a go already and it failed, can you now have another even if you are over 40? Or even if it didn't fail because you did it abroad? I've been told that this has changed but can't see anything online to confirm. I know that NICE recommend 3 but most PCTs can only afford to offer 1. Has this changed with the new over 40 law ? Thanks in advance for your replies.

combined test

hi all Went today for my combined test and scan, only to find that as I was 14 weeks today I could no longer have the test. It's done between 12- 13weeks & 6 days.So I now need to wait to have the quadruple test from week 15 onwards. Needless to say I was not happy but still had scan. Scan revealed baby ok but on the big side. Actually measurments showing it should be 14weeks & 6 days. But as IVF there is no arguing with the dates. But how can this be? Sonographer reassured me that there is noth...

treating thrush

Hi all I have thrush and have been prescribed canesten by my doc. The only thing is is that he has given me 6 pessaries to usee over 6 nights. Is this not excessive? I've tried to look it up but no joy. He said it was becos thrush is harder to get rid of in pregnant women. Perhaps I'm being paranoid, but just want to be sure. I don't want anything to jeoperdise this pregnancy. I'm also on 3 pessaries a day of pregesterone!!!! Any advice?

Sex in the first trimester

Thanks to you all. I think I'm the same, too scared to venture especially as we also had a loss last time. Luckily DH is Egyptian and as he thinks their docs are fab will be more than happy to go with the advice. Over there they advise this to all pregnancies, natural and assisted. Anyway thanks again. Rosa x

ICSI in Alexandria, Egypt

Hi all. I would just like to say that I have had the most amazing doctor in Alexandria. I have recently got back and am on the last few days of my 2ww. I can honestly recommend him. If you are considering IVF abroad and would like to go to Egypt I am more than happy to pass on his details. Egypt is also a great place to relax following the treatment. Good luck to you all. Rosa

travelling by plane after embryo transfer

Hi all, It's nice to be back. It's taken me a while to get back after the last ICSI. However, I am going to travel to Egypt to have ICSI in the summer. I will be there for 6 weeks. I will start d/r here and then I'll go but I think that I will need to travel about a week after e/t. Are there any restrictions or recommendations about travelling? Many thanks.
