Chances of conceiving naturally after having a baby - issue is male factor infertility!

Hey everyone My hubby & I were lucky enough to have our gorgeous girl in January 2012 after our third cycle of ICSI due to male factor infertility. We've been thinking of trying again but this evening our baby girl was playing with a ball in the living room & I know what she really wanted to do was to play catch, & I felt so sad that (as yet) she hasn't got a sibling! My dh suffers from a low sperm count but also anti sperm antibodies but my question is has anyone conceived naturally after havin...

Nursery for 12 month old! Wobbles & don't know what to do!

Thank you all so much for the replies, it certainly helped! Because C didn't have much lunch whilst there on Monday, I booked her in for her final settling session today instead of yesterday so she could stay for lunch again! I took all your advice, I talked to C all the way there & explained that she will be playing with lots of children & making lots of new friends, not that she understood what I was saying! Redwillow, I also took her favourite blanket for her afternoon snooze & her pink snugg...

Nursery for 12 month old! Wobbles & don't know what to do!

Hello all I need advice! I returned to work in October for 3 days pw when Chloe was 10 months & I was lucky enough that my mum & my MIL helped with childcare. Work have now insisted that I go back 4 days a week & we are putting C in nursery 1 or 2 days a week. We've found a nursery which has been recommended by a number of people, & C has had two settling in sessions. The first was about an hour, & today was about 2 hrs. However, I am having HUGE wobbles. C cried today & they couldn't settle her...

Amber anklet for teething

Hi everyone I think C is teething & my sister gave me an amber anklet a while a go but they have been voluntary recalled because of a choking hazard, but she swears by it as her first lo had huge issues with teething & with her second she used the anklet & he didn't seem to suffer as much! I just wondered if anyone else has used one for their babies? Thanking you

Considering a holiday abroad with a 8 month old

Hey ladies Thank you all so much for the advice & sorry it's taken so long to reply. We've booked a holiday to Majorca today for 13th September, just a week but I am sure that will be enough My sister & her DH were also talking about going on holiday around the same time as us, so I suggested we go together. They have 2 boys - one who will be 13 months & the oldest will be almost 3 years old. They agreed & also my parents are coming too - free baby sitting service LOL! We are staying in Porto Cr...

Considering a holiday abroad with a 8 month old

Hey everyone My dh & I are currently considering taking our daughter abroad in September when she will be 8 months. We are considering Majorca as it will only be a short flight. We obviously have to consider things like sterlisers, pushchair, nappies, milk etc, & I just wondered if any of you have had experience taking a baby abroad & can offer any advice, unless of course you think we are mad so negatives are also welcome! Ha!!! Thanking you muchly x

Anyone done HypnoBirthing classes did it work for them?

Hey Hope, I've not done it, but it's something that I am thinking of doing. One of my friends did it, and it really helped her.

I am 19wks tomorrow following our third cycle of icsi and it still doesn't seem real, apart from the fact I still have morning sickness! Hair dye

Aw thanks ladies, I'm sorry I missed the info on faq's, didn't think of looking there! Whoops!!! Bells, the info you put about coming into contact with everything else is right, and I think there is so much scare mongering when it comes to what you should or shouldn't do, but I wasn't sure where the hair dye thing come from! Another one which I find annoying is peanuts! Some people and also websites tell you not to eat them, and others say it's ok! Complete minefield but I'm eating them as I nor...

Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine

Hey Lorraine, welcome to the Bristol thread. Congrats on starting tx and if you want some support would definately recommend that you look up the Cycle Buddie threads as there will be many women going through tx at the same time so you can support each other. Franky, I agree this thread has gone quiet, but I think it's all going on with us Bristol ladies. I don't have any personal experience of iui so I can't advise on success rates but the clinic should be able to give this to you. Also, have a...

** FIRST TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hey ladies Sorry I've not been around but had a scary 24 hours as I started to bleed. We went to the epu and the LO's heart is still beating strong and has grown since Tuesday. They could see a large patch of bleeding (about 5cm) but they said it's not a sign of miscarriage. The bleeding has tailed off now but they have warned I may bleed again over the next week and if it does I need to call the epu. I am also booked in for another scan on 14th June when I will be 8w6d. I've rested all day and ...

Hey Franky Fab news about your appointment - do you know if it's with the nurses or back to the consultant? If it's your first appointment with the consultant, then when we had ours we went through all our test results from the doctors and discussed tx options and also further tests which were needed. I also had an internal scan to make sure everything appeared normal from my side which it must have as I haven't had the dye test or a lap, so you may not need these either. We went through our med...

Bristol Newbie saying hello

Hi Franky I'm also having tx at Southmead - there are several of us lurking around this site. I hope your referral doesn't take too long to come through. People announcing they are pregnant is difficult. My sister has got married, had my nephew who is 15 months old and is 5months pregnant atm, and it's particularly hard as if our second tx would have worked we would have been due within a few days of each other! Enough of me, but each time someone announces, it doesn't get easier but I think you...

panic attacks over upcoming injections, what if......

Aw MrsK, I was exactly the same as you the first time hun. I was terrified of needles too and would be shakey at the sight of a needle when giving blood. Mr Snoop did the first couple of injections on our first tx and then I did them myself for the rest of that tx and for our second tx too. If you're using menopur and mixing the drugs yourself, then the actual injection really isn't as bad as you think it is. I know some ladies numb the area with an ice cube first but I've never done this as I h...
