Information on Azoospermia

I wholeheartedly agree with Jenny , Google is your enemy! I drove myself bananas only to conclude that as hard as it seems the only thing you can do is wait & yes keep very busy. I really agree with the counsellor suggestion , I did it a few years down the line and wish I did it straight away , is your dh telling anyone else ? Only if it is just you supporting him , you need support for yourself too , for example you mentioned supporting both of you and hoping it was enough , it will be but to b...

Information on Azoospermia

Hi Zebgirl28, I am sorry you are going through this , its such a stressful and upsetting time, I remember it well. As the girls have said Azoospermia means an absence of sperm in the ejaculate caused by obstructive and non obstructive and sometimes they cannot tell you the reason why, such as in my dh's case. they did a surgical retrieval SSR/Tessa luckily they found lots of swimmers ( 9 viles) my dh's tubes were damaged for unknown reasons and they tried to re build tubes sadly this wasn't succ...

Azoospermia no normal forms anyone had this and bfp?

Hi all, Just been for follow up app after failed icsi cycle Cons said embryologist said "no normal forms seen" in the defrosted vials That this could be why it didn't work and that the problem may persist into future cycles He had nine voles collected at that time it said no normal forms but we were lead to believe Injectable forms were still viable He now gave us a 20% chance of success and says might be due to cost etc better to think about donor. I am confused and a bit annoyed why wasn't thi...

LIFE IN THE LAB - FOR ALL OF YOUR SPERM QUESTIONS

Hi RavenClaw, My dh has azoospermia and dependant on the cause (which it sounds is like my dh's unknown) they could attempt a reconstruction as they did with my dh . This op is technically a vasestomey reversal as they simply build a new tube to bypass the blockage or damaged tubes. This gives a 30% chance of swimmers Being able to get through based on both sides being able to be successfully re built, my dh's however was only viable for one side reconstruction and that reduced the odds for swim...

Endocrinologist referral in 3 weeks, what to expect?

e Lauren, I imagine they will want to investigate possible causes for his hormones testosterone results and possible solutions. Sometimes low testosterone can be caused by undesended testical , sometimes there could be sperm in the testies that an be collected via tessa or Pessa Sometimes it could be caused by a condition that causes low production or hormones Called. Hypogonadism in this case hormone injections can be given to produce swimmers So Imagine the doc will likely do. Physical exam to...

Hey everyone , Sorry I haven't replied in a while went the appointment and was told by the specialist that we didn't qualify because I have passed 36 the upper age limit ... So was floored and devastated by this. The consultant said he would write to the pct but said not to be too expectant... So onto today ...Chrismas eve ...letter drops through the letter box .... It says that we are an expectional case & that are indeed going to fund us !!!!! I cannot believe it!! After 4 long years waiting a...

Need help comforting my husband please help

Hi Willow, Just wanted to send you a virtual hug My dh has azoospermis so no swimmers in the ejaculate ( found n tesa) , when we found out he was distraught and I felt so helpless there was just nothing I could do to help him . He later said that my reassurance that I loved him and was going nowhere really helped him but unfortunately didn't prevent him worrying that I might run away. Fr some time his self esteem was low and he didn't want to talk about it or see a counsellor , it seems though w...

IVF in Reading

Hi anyone here being treated at Rbh? Reading the above suggests icsi isn't done there, anyone on the forum know if that is still the case ? Or if anywhere nearby other than the john Radcliffe that we could go to? Have an app there in November so was just wondering in advance of it. Thanks
