Hi Louise, Ovulation spotting is actually considered to be a sign of fertility by many experts. There can be many reasons behind it. It can be due to hormonal changes. As a woman’s body prepares to ovulate, follicles will start to grow and mature. As they mature they produce more oestrogen. This increase in oestrogen triggers a surge in LH. When LH surges, it signals the mature egg to burst from the follicle. It is thought that as the egg bursts from the follicle that a little bleeding may occur...
Quoted from "#wannabmummy" Hey!! Does anyone know if wellbeing man is good for increasing sperm quality?? Xx Hi wannabmummy, I tried Wellman for 3 months, which made my low sperm count up to normal. Along with it, I also quit smoking, healthy diet, no caffeine, no alcohol. So, I really don’t know how much Wellman conception worked, but it has certainly helped to major extent. It offers many sperm improving ingredients. Plz consult your GP before starting. I am sure you will have some good swimm...
Hi, I have no personal experience of this. But a big hug and good luck to you!!! Many IVF doctors recommend organic foods which have not been treated with pesticides, hormones and antibiotics as this reduces the exposure of embryos to toxic chemicals which increases the likelihood of them surviving. Please remember it is a joint venture and both partners need to prepare. Though, it is the woman’s diet, which is of more importance; a good diet also aids healthy sperm production and, if both partn...
Hi penmaster, Agree with Maria. Dont take anything unless and until advised by your doctor. You mentioned in your post that your wife has been taking DHEA for a few months. Though it is clinically proven to have positive effects on AMH levels, I believe, it must be under supervision of your doc.I am not sure, but increased AMH levels can be a result of it. How are the things now? Hope you got some clarity by this point of time. Edward
Yes, it is completely possible. Not finding sperm is always a possibility and can be emotionally devastating to men and their partners. Also Net has got some point. There is a lot of difference in low sperm count and low semen volume. Both have different consequences. Low sperm count refers to “low sperm quantity and/or low sperm motility” means that there are not enough sperm to reach. There are many possibilities for this. Some sperms are malformed and make travelling problematic. Some men eve...
My wife has PCOS and we were also going through the same uncertainty each month while ttc. Early pregnancy symptoms are no different than PCOS symptoms. In PCOS, certain imbalances in the oestrogen, progesterone balance, body begins to exhibit pregnancy symptoms, especially if you are late for AF. Too much oestrogen can cause almost all of those symptoms. Though PCOS is tricky, HCG needed for a positive pregnancy test rises at normal rates for you as well. When my wife was pregnant, the symptoms...
Hi mate, Well, few clinical studies have demonstrated that DHEA has taken prior to IVF treatment may improve ovarian reserve and therefore the response to ovarian stimulation leading to an increase in the number and quality of eggs collected. This in turn may improve the number and quality of embryos created and therefore the chances of pregnancy. Why don’t you get it check again to be very sure? If results are matching with what you have mentioned, there is a fair chance of natural conception. ...
Hi lazzybeans, I am sorry for your loss. Hope you recover from it soon. Before planning for remedies, it is important to understand the cause of thin lining of uterus. Few reasons that can be considered are, infection, scarring from D&C, low oestrogen levels, poor uterine blood flow. If you are looking for natural remedies, think of herbs and supplements that promote blood flow to uterus, supports adequate oestrogen levels and have direct action on uterus. Acupuncture should help you bring more ...
Hey all you ladies who are worried about brown spotting, it is considered pretty common in first trimester. It can be due to implantation or due to hormones that control your menstrual cycle triggering bleeding (breakthrough bleeding). You may have this more than once. Light bleeding can occur at other times in early pregnancy and a doctor may still refer to the bleeding as "implantation bleeding." It is important to understand the difference between implantation bleeding and early miscarriage b...
Hi Cheree, Yes, they can be taken together. As I mentioned, Coq10 is present naturally in our body, a natural fuel for mitochondria. However, there are no supplements available in market which offers both in recommended amount. You have to take them separately. 600 mg of Coq10, a day for three months is the recommended dose. Which DHEA are you taking? Micronized version of DHEA is supposed to be more accessible to the body. It is also believed to decrease the chance of side-effects that result f...
I am really sorry for your loss. But good news in your case is having tubes removed, makes no difference to the way eggs are retrieved for IVF. IVF is where eggs are removed from your ovary using ultrasound scanning and a fine needle just before the the ovulation, mixed with sperm outside the womb, and the resulting embryo or embryos are re-inserted into your womb. It’s hard waiting for the treatment to begin. Best of luck for your treatment. Pray you get a BFP soon. Edward
Miracles do happen, we have told that we had to go for ICSI as sperms had motility problem also wife with PCOS, but got conceived naturally, while waiting for ICSI.There is no harm for trying. Never give up and accompany your efforts with good male fertility supplements (for e.g. Wellman conception/Fertilaid for men) Good luck. Edward.
I am sorry to hear about your IVF cycle cancellation. Well, I believe, this can be a side-effect of stimulation medications. When a patient undergoes an IVF cycle she is given FSH which stimulates the ovaries into allowing all the possible follicles (& eggs) to develop. OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation) occurs in about 1-2% cycles, where the patient’s ovaries over-responded to the medication. They are enlarged and can cause fluid to build up in the abdomen and pelvis and possibly lead to blood clo...
Hi, Being overweight – not necessarily obese – has a large impact on the success of fertility treatment. A high BMI represents a technical challenge for IVF patients at egg retrieval because ovaries are often pushed up high and away in the abdominal cavity, making it difficult to reach and recover all the mature eggs with the retrieval needle. Moreover, the presence of excess fatty tissue may result in poorer image quality on the ultrasound, making it difficult to recover every egg. Fewer eggs r...
I understand what you must have been going through. About 10 to 15 men in every 100 who have problems with fertility have no sperm at all in their semen (azoospermia). There are many reasons why this may be, but the most common cause is a condition called obstructive azoospermia. This is when you don't have any sperm in your semen because there is a blockage in both of your seminal ducts (the tubes that carry sperm from your testicles to your penis). The blockage may be in the epididymis, vas de...
CoQ10 and DHEA supplements help in fertility by improving egg quality. While CoQ10 appears to be beneficial to both men and women, DHEA is prescribed to improve fertility in females. DHEA is beneficial to women with low ovarian reserve due to age or premature ovarian aging. The only downside of DHEA is acne, oily skin, facial hair growth because it is weak androgen. Coq10 helps improve egg quality, viability and quantity. It’s one of the vitamins that exists naturally in our body and fuels mitoc...
Yes, it’s proven clinically that obesity affects your chances of getting pregnant. It leads to PCOD, increases chances of miscarriages. But many a times, it is mistaken to be limited to women only. No, even obese men are at greater risk of developing infertility as well!!! Excess body weight affects sperm production. Hormone leptin, which is produced by fat cells, might damage sperm cells or the cells that produce them. Or it could be that elevated temperatures within the scrotum, due to more fa...
Yes, you are right, Dong Quai increases circulation to uterus, iron rich for proper blood formation. Along with that, you can also try raspberry leaf – works to tone uterine muscles, Evening primrose oil – rich in LA & GLA. You can also try Wellwoman supplements recommended for overall women health. Hibiscus flower that is high in vitamin C, aids iron absorption, best combined with herbs high in iron like Nettles. It normalizes blood pressure and helps in proper blood formation. This is essentia...
Hey ladies, I know it’s a little bit late to reply, but just thought to share following information with you all. Just found this on the NHS website; The chemicals in permanent and semi-permanent hair dyes are not highly toxic. Most research, although limited, shows that it’s safe to colour your hair while pregnant. Some studies have found that very high doses of the chemicals in hair dyes may cause harm. Many women decide to wait to dye their hair until after the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, wh...
Yes, there are good number of antibiotics those are safe in pregnancy, in fact the most common medical treatment for a urinary tract infection is antibiotics. But are you aware of the facts that these antibiotics wreak havoc on the body, kill good bacteria (that keep bad bacteria in check), allow yeast to grow, and can even cause a UTI (and are the #1 cause of recurrent UTIs). Then why not treat it naturally and help resolve the root cause of the infection. I personally believe on natural remedi...
