How much does it cost using an egg donor to have IVF???

Hi prices vary according to where you go. I would be prepared to pay upwards of £5,000. If you go to somewhere like Spain it's from about e6,000. You should e able to get specifics from the clinic websites.

Lost my PMA

Amanda I'm sorry you feel so low. It can get you like that sometimes and the only thing you can do is keep going. Find something that you enjoy and makes you feel good about yourself. It was yoga for me but whatever floats your boat. The thing I always hate is waiting as it can make you feel like you have no control, so try and channel your frustration into some sort of project. When are you due to have a follow up smear? Borderline smears can be followed by a normal one so try not to worry too ...

DIET, VITAMINS & SUPPLEMENTS

Hi Nic. My clinic recommend Femibion. Apparently the combination in it is better than folic acid alone, and it has some other essential vitamins and minerals. You can get it in Boots. Pronatal is the correct one. There are a couple of others for post natal and womens health. xxx

Which clinics?

Hi Flump I was in your situation 13 years ago. At the time I was referred to an endocrinologist Gerard Conway at UCH London. He has a special interest in POF and I became part of his research. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have my son (spur of the moment IUI). Not sure if you want to pursue it from this angle but it certainly helped me get a handle on things. My experience then was with NHS. I later went to their ACU which is private but didn't feel quite the same about the experience. I'm not...

not helpful

Hi I have been on the waiting list with this clinic for years (ED) and have had treatments with them in the past. I have not been impressed by my recent expereinces with them. They refused to scan me whilst I had treatment abroad (another clinic happily obliged). They told me on the phone that they didn't want get involved (exact words) and were very rude and dismissive. Then my GP managed to get me an apponitment with them for the scan and they wanted to charge £310!!!!! I can see what their pr...

helpful

Hi I've just had treatment abroad and needed scans and possibly blood tests here. The SEFC were the only people who would help with this and made it easy to register and book last minute appointments. If they approach all their patients this way then I am impressed. I have been on the waiting list with another clinic who refused to help and were in fact extremely unpleasant about it.

CREA Spain

Hi home form having FET yesterday. It was actually a pleasant experience. Very well coordinated between the clinic and the hospital where treatment takes places (soon to be on the same site). The CREA staff were so kind and attentive and they sang to me during the procedure because I was so nervous!!! Sounds weird but it was a very successful technique for relaxing me. I felt no pain and the transfer was swift. The clinic checked my progesterone and oestrodial levels in the morning and phoned to...

treatment in Seville - Spain

Hi Lizzie We have to be at the clinic Wednesday morning so we are flying Tuesday coming home Wednesday night. They've already given us as much info about embies as they are permitted. Blastocysts x2 which is fantastic. Same blood groups and colouring as DH. They are just waiting patiently for us to arrive!! I look like a tomato. Pharmacist says it's the steroids. Actually I look like an oversunned british tourist LOL! The advice I've been given is not to lift, partial rest and no intercourse unt...

treatment in Seville - Spain

Hi Can't believe how fast the days are going by! Clinic doing the scan phoned me today with a time. They are so lovely, why can't they all be like that I feel suprisingly calm and really positive today. I hope this is a sign I wonder why your protocol is so long if you have snow babies waiting? As you say it's not long in the scheme of things and it will be here before you know it

Arranging scans when having treatment abroad

Hi all my local DGH arranged a vaginal scan with the Esperance (local private hospital who had refused to do it i the first place!). They then told me they would charge £310 !!!!! The consultant at DGH was obviously trying to help but OMG is money really more important. That's 3 times more than the ACU in the same hospital Lukily we've found a fertility centre who will do it for half that and without the big fuss

Hi Sounds like you could feel a little hormonal. You'll need some TLC. Your prep is completely different from mine, is that because you need to sync with a donor? The 6th Aug will come around very quickly although if you're like me you want to do it yesterday! lots of hugs required
