What a morning!

Hi Ladies, Well I had my scan, and oh yes there is a perfect little baby there with a lovely heartbeat and officially 8w+4d. Anybody listening outside the room must have wondered what was going on in there as I was just hysterical because of what was showing on the screen but joyful hysterical, and just been in a total trance since then! Keep looking at the scan picture and cant believe that it is MY PICTURE! So need a bottle of vodka but thats a no go so will settle for cranberry juice and pret...

I have been in contact with the clinic. I asked them about bringing my scan forward, they said no, I asked why as I know ladies have scans at 6.5 weeks 7 weeks etc, I will be 8.5 weeks at the time of scan (25 Jan). They said it may be to do with having advanced equipment???? Not happy with that. She suggestd I do another pregnancy test and call them back with the result. So have bought one, I suspect it will say the same as the others so will do it tomorrow morning. Still wont convince me any di...

Really freaking now, just been to the loo, (tmi) number 2s and when wiped there was pink discharge. For the last few days i have been getting clear gungy discharge with brown in it and brown on paper but only when I wipe. Now this. Im just crying even after speaking to the clinic who tried their best to say not to worry and see what happens. I still dont have my scan until 25 Jan and just want that because I';m still not convinced I am actually pregnant despite the three tests saying I am. Reaso...

Hi All, thought I would join in. I got my BFP on 27 Dec (did two more tests over the next two mornings just to make sure!). Been feeling ok, a lot of period style cramping during 2ww and after BFP but that has eased off now and have quite a bit of cramping on and of but not severe. Feel very tight and heavy in lower abdomen as well. Assume this is all normal. What I am concerned about is today when I wiped before going to the loo (ritual I do everytime since BFP!) noticed clear discharge with bl...

Head all over the place

Hi All, I thought I would be enjoying being pregnant after going through all the IVF and then getting a postiive, but I'm constantly worrying. I'm starting to come round to the fact thta I am pregnant even after the positive tests (doubtful because of cyst). I feel tight in my lower abdomen and there is also cramping from time to time (nothing like period cramping), but then I have a couple of days where period cramping has occurred and feel just like AF coming. But today I had a wipe where ther...

UTI treatment in 1st trimester - Trimethoprim???

I can sympathise in a way regarding UTIs, I had what I thought was a UTI end of October, i was prescribed the same as you Trimethorpin (before IVF cycle started), bladder pain got worse, went back to Dcs got given Cefalexin, no tests done, ended up in A&E as in Agony only for the second visit to differnet A&E (not local as away for a break) to actually culture my urine and tell me it was Pseudomonas and that the antibiotics given were no good and needed Ciprofloxacin, so worried as nearing start...

Has the bubble burst?

Thank you everybody for your replies. My viability scan is on 25 January. I had the cyst showing on baseline scan on 22 Nov and also on 30 Nov so asssume it is still there. I had cyst last year and a couple together earlier this year, the first one was removed in aspiration before starting IVF and the two togethr were removed with egg collection in March. What alerted me was the pregnancy test leaflet (Clearblue digital) said false positive may be given due to a cyst, so I thought oh great and ...

Has the bubble burst?

Hi All, i dont know what to think now, I've done three different tests all positive, I had an 3 day embryo transfer on 13 December and it is 3 weeks today (10 Dec) my donor had the egg collection. I did a clearblue digital which said 3+ weeks on Wednesday (technically 19 days since conception). What I didnt realise is that an ovarian cyst can give false positive readings, I know I have one only about 1.4cms as showed up on scans during treatment. I also feel every day that I am going to have a p...

A bit late on this one, but im glad im not the only one having a problem with Menopur. I had to do 6 bottles with about 1 and a half waters each night! So you can imagine how long we were trying to draw the mixture up for. The glass bottles can give you a splint but our clinic gave us these little plastic round things to slot onto the top of the bottle then snap the tops off with the little blue dot facing you but snapping it away from you, perfect break everytime. As to the drawing up, we used ...

Dont know what to do now

Our third IVF failed yesterday. We were hoping to get some embryos to go to Blastocyst. The first two cycles were put back in me on days 2 and 3, the second one we knew we had two Grade 1/2 embryos with 6 and 7 cells on day 3 and for some reason they did not implant. Because of the failures we were hoping to see what was going wrong. I had 11 mature eggs, apparnetly 7 fertilised but only 4 carried on to progress to embryos. On day 3 they were 5 cells and 4 cells. By day 4 they had only gone to 7...

7 cell embryos on day 4

I had egg collection on Monday, 13 eggs taken, 11 mature, 7 fertilised but only 4 made it to an embryo. Out of them 4, today we have 2 x 7 cell (Grade2), 1 x 5 cell (grade 2) and 1 x 4 cell (grade 1). The clinic are taking these four to blastocyst because we have had two failed cycles, we know there is a risk of them not making it and having no transfer but after two day 3 failures, we need to try and find out more about why it is not working hopefully. We are concerned that the 7 cells are not ...

Very concerned

Hi everybody I started injection Suprecur and Menopur (450) on Tuesday night (3 doses so far). On my scan on Tuesday I hadnt had a period and she found what she is not sure is a cyst or a follicle left over, she couldnt be sure but said not to be concerned about it. My period then turns up on Wednesday despite her saying my lining was thin. I had severe pain with it and sick and reasonably heavy bleeding. Last night my stomach felt uncomfortable which it can do when ive had the treatment before,...

Anybody had success with blastocysts?

Hi everybody! Well here we go again, third IVF cycle, third time lucky?????? Things are being done differently this time. My husband provided a sperm test to send to America for his DNA in the sperm which can be a problem in producing embryos, but his results came back well within limits. We are going to be doing all IVF this cycle no ICSI, had 11 mature eggs last time, on same dose of Menopur (450 a day) so hopefully get the same if not more Our consultant wants to take the embryos to blastocys...

Dont know what to think?

We are going to undergo second course of IVF/ICSI next Month (March). Bit of a long story, my first period after my first ICSI failure arrived on 11 December, next period regular 28 days later but then this period was 31 days. I am very very rarely more than 29 days and I couldn't believe that it would happen when everything is booked at the clinic and my drug dates etc based on the 28 day cycle. I started taking Suprecur last night (21st Feb), stop taking the pill on 28 Feb (after only taking i...

icsi on short protocol

Hi All, I think I must have done the short protocol (bit confused by this) only took the pill for about a month to regulate my period and then stimming for about 11 days, EC 2 days later and ET 2 days after that. It is my first ICSI attempt, the consultant was hoping to do an IVF/ICSI split but as I only had 4 mature eggs (7 were taken) he went with the ICSI option only. Three fertilised and had two transferred back. Unfortunately I feel that it hasn't worked for me as can feel AF rearing her ug...

Is sedation enough?

Thank you everybody for your replies, it was fine, I did feel a bit uncomfortable at one point, felt something stuck up my middle and them pressing on my left ovary to try and get a better look but dont remember getting off the bed and into the wheelchair and back in the other room, not sure when I started to remember, probably when I got hungry and wanted a three course meal! So everything was fine

Love my embies

Oh wow, had two of my three little embies put back today and I got to see them already on the tv screen they have in the room, (they are going to e-mail me copies of them) I couldn't believe they were mine, god knows what Im going to be like if it does work and I see a baby for the first time, shall be a blubbering mess, was really amazing. She picked the two best embryos, one of which was a grade 3 this morning and 4 cells but when she looked at it shortly before the transfer it became a grade ...

Mixed emotions

I had the call from the clinic a little while ago. I had 7 eggs collected yesterday but only four were mature enough and only three fertilized. I am a little disappointed but so trying to be positive for the three that I have. I dont know of their grading at the moment and wont until tomorrow morning when I get to the clinic for the ET. I am so nervous knwing that I have three embryos but wanted more, I guess I am jsut being selfish and I know that it only takese one of these three to work.
