Hey Liz, Wow. Loads of luck with the Clomid. Just to back up my last (less positive) post, I'm just a worrier and I think whenever baby no 2 cropped up, I'd have had a minor panic for a few months while my brain processed the implications, be that now or in 5 years time! I think I've just got to the end of the brain processing time and have adjusted to the idea - in all respects (lifestyle, finances, impact on work etc.), it's just taken me a ridiculous 5 months! Wish my brain could switch off a...

Hello! Popping in quickly again to say hello. Wanted to say huge congrats to Rocky (admittedly very belatedly) on the birth of Edie. Lovely name! I hope things start to settle down for you a bit soon - both with new baby and with work - must be absolutely exhausting! Hope everyone else is well. Lovely to read your posts about shoes and talking and walking and all of that - think this is a brilliant age, though not without its challenges! Z's favourite word is 'nen' (no). Read your posts about tr...

Hello! Off work with a tummy bug so just popping in for my quarterly post (I'm useless compared to you guys managing to post on here most days!). Really nice to catch up on what's going on - sounds like everyone is having fun with toddlers! And we thought it would get easier once we were over that 12 weeks! Buzzbee - enjoy your nighttime cuddles while you can! We've never been able to settle Z in our bed - gets far too excited and thinks it's time to play. And I can't usually cuddle him for more...

Hello! Just popping in quickly and wanted to say hello. I pop on from my mobile to try to catch up quite a bit (e.g. on my journey into work) but it takes so long for me to write a post with my phone (and then it's full of typos or I lose the message and have to start again) that I never manage to get something written! It's really nice that you guys are all still managing to keep this post going! Rocky - great news re a 3 day week. Wanted to say that I do Monday (at home supposedly but often ha...

Thanks Blessed, haven't quite got my head around it yet. Also cautious as I miscarried the only time I had a natural pregnancy. Re circumstances, low reserves on my part, slow swimmers on dh's. I'd heard it can happen after ivf but thought it unlikely. Long Af's can't be nice for you. Let's hope it all settles down so you don't have to go on the pill. Harry x

Hey all, very long time no post! How is everyone? Busy with fun little ones I expect! They really are lovely at this age aren't they. Well, I'm feeling freaked and figured only fellow IVF'ers would understand where I'm coming from. Just stopped BF'ing morning and night, back to my lovely glasses of wine, loving being back at work and my bosses are being brilliant.....and missed my AF, yep, a BFP. Had been talking about whether we'd go back and have a go with frosties at some point, have barely b...

Hi everyone! Happy Easter! Can't possibly catch up with all the news on here but I've just skimmed over the last page. Lots going on! Always nice to read for ideas about food or how to deal with problems e.g. teething and also good to know that everyone's encountering similar issues! z is 9 months old tomorrow! can't believe it! he's a bundle of trouble but this time (6-9 mths ish) is a really nice time isn't it! He's into everything and wrecking everything (I just had to copy 'z' from Elizmac's...

Hello all! Just a quick post for Liz. Hoping I can reassure you! Have had Zac settling in with a childminder over the last couple of weeks and am really happy we've gone down the childminder route. Ours is in her fifties with loads of experience and I feel he's being nurtured, looked after, is getting out and about lots (which many nurseries just can't do), is mixing with a small number of children of different ages (a bit like brothers and sisters!) and he already beams when he sees her. Loads ...

Hey all, Chillimint, good luck with that inhaler! Yikes, they can be really wriggly when they want to can't they! Taxi - sorry about DH's job. Must be stressful not knowing at least. Maybe he'll find something else just as they offer him a redundancy pay off and he can have both! Fingers crossed! Z is 8 months old tomorrow. I think he was just crawling early because he has always slept on his front as a result of horrible colic in the early days and would always have to lift his head to see you ...

ACU - Eastman Dental Hospital, London

Also highly recommend. I do agree with the early posts back from 2008 regarding feeling like an NHS patient at private prices. Appointments running very late sometimes (difficult when you're trying to get back to work!), an NHS-style waiting room and variable attitudes of staff - some of them are absolutely amazing, others not great. The IVF is astonishingly expensive, I don't have anywhere else to compare it to but we spent £10,000 on one cycle last year. But it was a first time success. They t...

Just popping in quickly to say hello! Have just had a quick read to try to update myself as I haven't managed to get on here for ages! Wow, it's brilliant that everyone is still in touch so much on here! Zac's in with the childminder this morning for the first of his settling in sessions. I go back to work on 2nd April (4 days a week, one of those from home) so we're doing settling in all month. I'm sure he's causing all sorts of problems but I feel liberated! Just a few hours where I can do as ...

Baby rice and baby porridge - wind!

Thanks Chillimint! Purees seem to be doing the trick at the moment. Pear went down a treat (at about two thirds of a whole pear), carrot less so but it was a bit lumpy! Onto avocado or nectarine today! It's messy but fun! Harry x

Baby rice and baby porridge - wind!

Hello, Wonder if anyone has any advice. LO is now 20 weeks, has been breastfed exclusively (a stubborn bottle refuser!). We started last week to introduce some solids because I wanted to take it slowly and have time to introduce foods bit by bit, working up to a more varied repertoire by the time I go back to work. He was also ticking the boxes in terms of things like opening mouth for a spoon, supporting head easily, watching us eat etc. Baby porridge first (Organic banana porridge) - really ba...

Hello everyone, wow, this is a busy thread! I have just logged on to get some advice on weaning and thought I'd pop on this thread to see what was going on. Babies aren't easy are they?!! I'm sure some people somewhere must have nice easy babies but it's comforting to know we're all struggling with different bits and bobs with the little ones. I'm just deciding which battles to choose and trying to tackle just one or two at a time! Zac still won't take a bottle and it's 4 weeks until we are due ...

He he, the men are funny when they do the singing aren't they! My DH refuses to sing the proper words to songs and usually replaces them with rugby/football words that are completely inappropriate - not that Z would know! For example, 'she'll be coming round the mountain when she comes' becomes 'we'll be running round Wembley with our wi**ies hanging out...singing I've got a bigger one than you!'. Quite funny. Taxihome - sketch writing, stand up and photography?! Wow - you must be very creative ...

Whoahh. Busy on here - can't possibly keep up! Hoping - Zac has lost lots of his hair too. He was born with loads but has rubbed lots of it off where he sleeps or lies on it. He still has hair at the top and front but it's really short/bald at the sides and back with a little row of hair again near his neck where it doesn't get rubbed! Must get some pictures sorted on here. And re weaning, I've just got one of the Annabel Karmel books from the library. It's called 'weaning, what to feed, when to...

Oh and Chillimint, I should have said. Re parent and baby groups, I've tried a few and I think at this stage, it's more about me getting something out of it (i.e. a break and a chat) than him. The one activity I have done where I think there was actually some 'baby socialising' going on was baby massage. All the babies lay on a mat in a circle and they'd all be fascinated with each other! It was lovely to watch!

Thinking about introducing some formula

Having the same problem as Gracie had but a good few months behind (LO is nearly 4 months). Want to introduce some formula but LO starting suddenly to refuse bottles (has taken bottles happily before). And I'm quite attached to BF'ing so give up the fight too easily and think 'ahh, he just wants boob, bless'. Will be back at work quite early, want to start TTC again quite quickly, have no BD life at the moment due to BF hormones and have battled with thrush for 4 months so for me, however much I...

Hello everyone, Just relaxing for 10 mins before DH gets home and expects his dinner cooked! A long and grizzly day with Master Zac. Up at 6.30am and wouldn't sleep in his cot all day. I've done about 2 and a half hours of walking with him in the papousse (tiring but probably good for me given all the sweets and biscuits I've had today!) to get him to sleep. Couldn't take him to a mum and baby group this morning - too grizzly. Tried to take him to a music group this afternoon - it was cancelled ...
