Being referred by consultant reduces waiting time?

We have been referred for ICSI last August b a consultant at Ebbw Vale. According to the receptionist at IVF Wales in Cardiff (I was in tears after another cock up) she said that an consultation appoitment had been amde for me and that wating time goes from the date you were referred and not the date of your consultation, Just wondered if anyone else had that?

Refusing IVF

Hi Catswhiskers: What "risks" is your DH referring to? It seems that HE is choosing to NOT have a child. As for not loving the baby.. that's cobblers. He'd love anything you produced. xxx

info about adoption

This is something that we are looking at if/when IVF doesn't work for us although I feel that we feel doomed before we start. They seem to want to know EVERYTHING! I was married to my ex-husband who was childfree (didn't know this at the time). He was diagnosed with OCD and eventually I had no choice but to leave him.. and go bankrupt. My DH now has a 5yo from a previous marriage but my SS was abducted when he was 3 months old. My DH has faught desperatley to be in his life. This court fight (wh...

IVF Wales, Cardiff

That is brilliant to hear such good news about ICF Wales. We have been referred for ICSI and are in the queue. Our consultation will be April. I am still unclear how many cycles we are entitled to. is it one or two?

Stress and fertility.

I just wondered what the real affect of stress is on fertiltiy? Both my DH & I are affected by stress. He, unfortunatly, is fighting a court battle to be a part of his little boy's life. This does impact on me... a lot. He struggles with all sorts of legal stress. I struggle too. In fact.. it's all a bit of a struggle. Last court case my progesterone was tested and it was 21. A few months later and it was 30. His little boy was concevied within months. With me.. it has been 2 years. He has low s...

Why is there such a limited amount of Male factor treatment options?

Thanks Demon for that post. I was nodding at every sentance. It came as a surprise to me! we are due to have ICSI. I am fine. DH has low sperm count. With us I have a sneaky suspicion that stress has a part to play in the reduction of his sperm. Gradually we are doing everything we can to increase his count. Having said that I wonder if it's cos more money etc has been (wrongly) invested into women fertiltiy. I dont know if anyone will agree or disagree me as it's just the school of "wot I recko...

Sucsess rate of ICSI?

Thanks guys for your responses. That certainly has given me hope. I reckon that my progesterone is a little low. One month it was 21 and the other month it was 30 (boarderline). All other hormone results were fine for me. Is there anything I can say to NHS to get them to test immune and such like? Will they bother testing me further? Do I need to be pushier? As for DH he is going to have further hormone tests. He has already fathered one child from a previous marriage (apparently it only took hi...

Sucsess rate of ICSI?

I just wondered (and trying to give myself some PMA here) what the sucess rate of ICSI would be if the problem just lies with the male. I am fine - all hormone tests have come back fine for me. I had an HGG and it was all perfect. DH has a very low sperm count 2 million, although, out of that, his motility is great at 72%! We have about 1 year to wait for our first treatment (I will keep chasing this to see if it changes)but do you think our chances of sucess are better than most?

Introducing myself.

DH and I have been TTC for 2 years. DH has been diagnosed with low sperm concerntration- only 2 million. He has a child from a previous relationship that lives with us some of the time. We have been referred for ICSI and apparently the wait for treatment is 1 year (quite good going I reckon) I think we will go for it. We are entitled to it and I think we get 2 free goes. If that doesn't work we are going to look into going private and weigh up our options. Would it be cheaper for more rounds of ...
