Sterilisers

I had the avent microwave one and found it really excellent and quick. We have bought a new one, the same, for this little bundle when it arrives too. Hope it helps. x L x

cervix rage!

Hey there Is this your first baby? Have they said the head is engaged yet? With my DD I had sweep done by my consultant on the Tuesday, he said I'd have the baby in the next 48 hours! I was so excited I could hardly wait but I had to! Then on the Friday when I saw the midwife she checked my cervix and said I was 2cm. On the Monday I had really swollen ankles and hands and saw the midwidfe again. She checked my cervix again but I was still 2cm. I had been having no pains or anything by this stage...

ECV?

Hey thank you ladies! I am just wondering if they will leave me to closer to my date to see if this little rogue turns naturally? My scan date is the 5th July but my own date is the 9th. They are intending to section me next Wed (1st) if it hasn't turned by then. I was 9 days late with my daughter so I feel I could have a wee bit more cooking time for this little rogue yet! And so many people I have talked to have said that there babies turned at the last minute! I feel like I can't win no no ma...

Moxibustion

I started my 10 day treatment of moxibustion on Wednesday night to see if this little bundle of love will turn for us! It's quite different to what I thought it was going to be. I have to use a pea-sized amount of the grass-like stuff (moxi stick), place it on the bottom, outside corner of my little toe and burn it until it gets too hot then my husband has to flick/lift it off. I have to start with my left toe and then alternate between left and right, burning 5 on each toe. It has only taken ab...

Headache & dizziness

Hope you feeling better. If I was you I would get it checked out by your midwife as soon as you can though just to be on the safe side. It's better to be over cautious than not. Take it easy!

ECV?

Well after discussing all our concerns with the consultant yesterday about the ECV procedure, our minds were put at ease and we went ahead with it. the consultant was absolutely fabulous, very down to earth and human! As I was lying on the bed having the baby being monitored she spoke to us, at the same time she had her hand on my shin was kinda patting/rubbing it as if to put my mind at ease and say it's ok! The procedure itself only lasted about 10 mins and unfortunately was unsuccessful. It w...

ECV?

Thank you Danielle. That's what I wanted to hear, real people's experiences! I kinda have the feeling that this is not going to be happening but I need to find out more about it first before making an informed decision. I am certainly not going to be playing around with this little bundle of love! Cheers x L x

ECV?

Thank you Bells The reason I am not delivering my baby breech is that my local hospital will not do it. I am unsure whether the next hospital, 130 miles away, will do it either. However, I don't think that I want to deliver a breech baby as I have heard that the complications can be tricky. I have waited long enough for this little footballer and I will not be putting him/her in any unnecessary danger. Of course I realise that some babies are breech for a reason and I am most certainly not going...

ECV?

Hi It is when they attempt to turn a breech baby inot the head down position for a natural delivery. They give you something to relax your uterus and then they gently manipulate the baby in a forward somersault into the correct position apparently. I have read a lot on the internet about it today and last night but I am still really unsure about it. I know of no-one around me that has had this done and one local midwife said it has been 2-3 years since she has a recollection of someone from here...

ECV?

Hi I saw a consultant today who has refered me to another hospital 130 miles away from home to try an EVC on Thursday. I couldn't believe it when he said Thursday, it hasn't given me much time to think about it and whether this is the right option for me. If it is unsuccessful they will give me a date to come in for a section, again at this hospital. I am absolutely gutted as I should be delivering in my local hospital, 20 miles away. I know it is in the best interests of the baby and then it ma...

Moxibustion - anyone used it?

Hi I had a positioning scan today and my baby is breech. The last three times I have seen the midwives they have said they were sure it was head down, each time I saw a different midwife, each very experienced. Anyway the scan today said that it is breech. I am 35 and a half weeks, the scan lady didn't think it would turn now but the midwife thought it had a good chance of turning as it is a second baby and it will have more room. She also suggested trying Moxibustion and I was wondering if anyo...

Baby Breech at 30 weeks

Thank you all for your replies. I did wonder if it was a bit early for worrying about it but then I thought there might be things that I could do to help it turn and stay there!! Hopefully all will be the right way round nearer to the time but if not I'll be following the tips and ideas suggested on here! Many thanks again. x L x

Baby Breech at 30 weeks

HI I am 30 weeks pregnant and I have been told that the baby is breach. The midwife said that there should be plenty of time for it to turn but I just wondered does anyone know more about it. Is there any positions I can get into to help the wee monkey shift round? My DD was not breach and I had a normal and fairly quick delivery with her and I was hoping that this time it would be the same too. I'll be just gutted if I have to have a section. x L x

any succsessful clomifene treatment stories?

Hey girls! How are you all doing? Life has been very hectic here as I am working fulltime to cover staff illnesses. I usually only do 3 days per week so this getting up and organised for 5 days is tough going! Since going part-time I have also joined loads of committees which was fine when I had the time to do it all but now well ..... what can I say! I'll have to muddle through!! I can hardly believe it is only 8 weeks until Xmas! Where has the time gone? I have some parcels organised but as us...

any succsessful clomifene treatment stories?

Hi Kickingk I have taken clomid for three months now. The first 2 months I didn't ovulate but I have this month and I am in total shock and really, complete disbelief, as I got my BFP on Sunday morning!! I was so stunned and excited on Sun but then had cramps in the aft and a little bit of spotting. However, things have settled down again and I am starting to get a little bubble of excitement!! Good luck with your journey, keep believing as I am sure it will work!! I know have to keep my fingers...
