Embryoscope at CARE Manchester

Hey there. It makes me chuckle coz he tried to put me on long protocol too. Until our previous consultant Mr Patel returned from sick. He obviously didn't criticise Mr Sadler but very quickly changed our protocol back! I've never responded well to long protocol. I was just annoyed that Mr Sadler didn't seem to have listened to us at all. Grrrr. Hope all goes well Xxx

Embryoscope at CARE Manchester

Hi hun We refused this part of tx even though it was a bit pressurised to agree (Mark Sadler). I knew that our response would be a poor one so why bother looking in when we've only ever had 2 embies to transfer. The other thing with the embryo scope is you need to have ICSI (or so we were told). Which again is an expense and one we didn't require anyway. That made me a little cross too. Glad you took it on yourself to query them further & get a full explanation! Xxx

Is it possible to have the natural killer cell test done privately??

Hi hun, we went through 6 tx cycles before getting tested. What a financial and emotional waste considering we knew there must be a problem after number 4! So yes get tested and save the heartache and the £'s in the long run. Good luck xx

refused treatment at st marys

CARE may very well treat you but it would also depend on your fsh and your other routine bloods. They do specialise in low/poor responders - I'm one! They're 5 mins from St Mary's located on daisy bank rd. You'll still need a referral from your GP or own hospital Good luck & if you need any more info them just ask. Xxx

CARE, Manchester

Hi Constance No wonder you're fraught! I did have a similar experience with Mr Sadler on this particular tx He sent out the wrong protocol twice and then signed us up for ICSI we didn't need. So I don't think administration is his strong point! I had previously been under Mr Patel and chose to go back under him once he was back off sick leave. He was my assigned "immune" specialist.. You could always ask for a second opinion or to speak to Mr Patel. I think you'd be perfectly within your rights ...

I changed for different reasons and my tx was private. CARE offered the immune testing that no one else did. Well not within a 150 mile radius! .xxx

CARE, Manchester

Hi there Tiggaberry I'd forget about the patient information evening. You can go to one like Liverpool with all the mod cons and fancy slide show but you really are a number. Or you can go to one in CARE which seems a bit brusk and business like, but once you're in the hands of a consultant it's very different-in a good way! If CARE choose their patients then they would not have chosen me - who statistically had it all against her. And yet here I am pregnant with my 2nd (I still can't believe it...

Newbie. Feeling dreadful with buserelin injections

Ooooh yes. Buserilin is evil. Sadly the hormonal reaction in the body is normal. Aching back and neck not heard of that - though we all respond differently. Are you maybe coming down with something? Best of luck. Xxx

Welcome Rach CARE don't have a waiting list as such. As the ladies mentioned it really is about getting the relevant blood tests etc sorted first. Stick around with us here on the CARE board Xxx

Dr Sandler is lovely. We just felt he was quite focused on his area of expertise which is array cgh testing & icsi. Neither of which we needed but he was keen for us to have. Mr Patel's approach was different. Great news all was fine with the scan Amyeliz. My little pinkie turned 12 months yesterday can't believe it! Xx

Help - would another infusion help increase HCG levels?

I know of someone here of fz (but I cannot remember who! Sorry) who's numbers weren't great & getting who had a further IVig infusion & their numbers then continued to rise as they should. But I think these cases are few and far between. I know intralipids can last up to 6 wks but the paperwork they send with the IL pack says you can have them every 4 weeks if necessary. I hot my GP to prescribe extra as I was a bit paranoid. Don't be afraid to ask for more hun. Xxx

CARE, Manchester

Hi Constance Don't worry bout CARE they do indeed know what they're about. Naturally with your history they will advocate immune testing. I think it's probably the next natural step for you. Mr Patel is the immune chap & while he's quite brusk & business like, he knows his stuff. In fact we were overjoyed to hear he was back which is why we asked for an appt with him following a bit of a disappointing one with a colleague. That doesn't mean to say his colleague isn't great - he just wasn't for u...

CARE, Manchester

Hi Chloe I did have my tests at CARE. In fact we moved to CARE because of a belief I had immune issues. So when we saw Mr Patel he was already in possession of my results, do he knew what he was dealing with. He suggested that there was no point in cgh for us due to low embryo numbers. Perhaps in your case he doesn't want to pressurise you into tests as it's an expensive business? Though testing, while costly, will rule out some major issues for you. For me it was the best move ever! GP's can be...
