IMMUNOLOGY CHATTER

fluffy - hi, yes it was me who was talking about having a negative LAD and thought about doing LIT. Dr G really wants me to go for LIT but it just doesnt seem to get a good press and everyone i ask about it says they didnt take it. There seems to be a lot of evidence that CARE get the best immune results and they dont even use LIT. My DH is really keen that we start with the IL's and the other immune drugs(clex, pred, asprin) and see how we get on. He wants us to keep LIT as an option for the ne...

IMMUNOLOGY CHATTER

HI immunies! Maria - its great to have a place to come and chat about this stuff. Thankyou! As Fluffy says, i dont like to talk to much about it, other than in my own diary, cause i dont like to confuse or worry other girls who dont know about immune issues. Fluffy - i wish i had a crystal ball to help you know where your body is at this month. I had a situation in feb where i found out i was pregnant 2 days before my period was due. I phoned Dr G in a panic and he faxed a prescrition to healthc...

who recommends LIT?

hi maria Lit is Lymphocyte immune therapy. Its recommended in the Dr beers book for ladies with negative LAD results. I'm no expert, have only just been reading up on it last night but basically it would mean having an injection of my DH's lymphocytes under my skin to bring on an immune response. The idea is then that this helps my body to prepare and cope with a response to a baby that is my partners. My body would recgonise that the baby is a foreign object and recognise it as a pregnancy and ...

who recommends LIT?

hi girls Ive just had my immune test results back from Dr Gorgy today. Yesterday i found out i am pregnant again so its been a bit of a rush today getting everything in place to start immune support treatment. I have elevated NK cells, elevated TNF alpha, low LAD levels and some other stuff that i didnt understand!!! Dr G has a really strong accent and i couldnt pick up all the results over the phone. I'm gonna phone back tomorrow and get the secretary to read them out slowly to me. Some other r...

immunology treatment while TTC naturally?

Hi girls Am looking for any advice or point of view you can give me on this Ive just suffered my 4th m/c this week. Ive previously had 2 bfp's from 3 ivf attempts and also had 2 natural BFP's. Ive been attending the GCRM (glasgow) for 2 years but this most recent BFP was natural. On my last IVF cycle GCRM gave me prednisolone, clexane and asprin. I still m/c at 7 weeks. This time (natural BFP) i took no medication and again M/c at 7 weeks. I'm thinking should I now maybe go visit dr gorgy for th...

where can i go for testing?

thanks mavis my gp is pretty hopeless and so i'm not expecting them to have any idea about any of this. So, i thought i would go in with a list of the level 1 tests that i would like! Is there any where i can get evidence to show that i'm entitled too be referred after 3 m/c and to show what tests should be done? thanks! nic xxxx

where can i go for testing?

Here's my plan so far....go to GP on friday and ask for Level 1 tests on NHS or ask for referral to a miscarriage clinic (the nearest one i can find is in liverpool!). After this i thought I'd self refer to Care Notts, but now i think i might go with Dr Gorgy instead as CARE said there's an 8 week waiting list. Then i thought i'd go back to GCRM and see Prof Nelson and tell him i'm having the testing done and ask if he would use the information to try anything different. If he says no, then i'll...

where can i go for testing?

Hi girls I'm looking for some advice on where to go for immune testing. I'm now going through my 3rd early m/c in the space of a year. My clinic in glasgow dont do any immune testing but did agree to give me clexane and prednisolone on this cycle which has just ended m/c. I really feel that I now want to get the proper testing done to see what is going on. I live in Glasgow and would be willing to travel but wondered where the nearest/best/most recommened clinics are for getting the tests done. ...

i am new and so rubbish with all of this

Hi miss C. Welcome! I see that you start taking your nasal spray on 31st Jan. Does that mean you're probably heading for Embryo Transfer in late feb or early March? There's a section on the forum called Cycle Buddies and thats where you can chat with folks going through treatment at the same time as you...so I reckon you're gonna be a Feb Fortunate or March Marvel! I'm in with the January Jewels at the moment and i have to say, I think i would have gone insane without all their support and love....

** FET CHAT **

Hi girls This is just gonna be a quickie and I'll post properly later. Just back from ET and 2 acupuncture sessions so feeling pretty tired out. Gonna have a wee sleep after i've had some lunch. I'm now officially PUPO with my own little Jack Bauer on board. Slightly downheartened as he hadnt grown overnight but embryologist says this does sometimes happen and it can take some embryos a wee bit longer to wake up after 'the big freeze'. DH just reckons he likes sleeping (like himself!). Hope he w...

Hi girls - good and sad news both today. Firstly, 2 of our 3 embryos did not survive the thaw at all. Aw. BUT one survived and is 100% perfect, intact, no fragmentation….PERFECT! So that’ll do me! Cant wait to get him on board and look after him. I already feel a bit like a mummy knowing he’s lying alone there in a wee petri dish overnight. I just wanna get him back home where he belongs. (Don’t know why it’s a he but for some reason thats how I’m viewing him. DH has named him JB, after Jack Bau...

effects of clexane injections - is this normal?

HI girls I started my clexane injections on tuesday. The first two areas where I did the injection are very bruised and really quite sore. Around each injection site is also tender and I have really dark blue veins coming out away in different directions from each injection site. Is this normal? In bed last night it was sore to lie on the side where i did the first injection (2 days ago). When I strech up I feel it tugging and its sore. Please tell me am i just worrying over nothing? Are these c...

Hi girls Just a quick update... My lining is now up to 6.5mm and we’re going for ET on Saturday!!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! By the time Sat morn comes lining will be up beyond 7mm so my clinic, my DH and myself are delighted. They’re thawing our frosties on Friday so that’s the next big hurdle for us. Hopefully all three will survive (we’ll find out on Fri afternoon) and I’ll be PUPO on sat! What a difference a day makes girls! To all those of you who are feeling despondent, worried and st...

Cheers Elisa - i hope the patches are doing the job too! I've got 2 of them stuck to my belly as we speak. It says quite clearly on the packaging that you must stick them on a Hairless part of your body! HAIRLESS??? Blooming HAIRLESS????? Are they kidding? Have these people never heard of PCOS!!!!

Hey ladies! Elisa - that knee is sounding really painful. I think that is a darn good reason for being off - if you dont want to tell them about tx. Sounds like you should be resting it anyway hon. Lysney - i'm the same as you with the snow babies. My clinic strongly believe in putting embies back in as quickly as possible so mine are only 2 days old. I think they're all 4 cell. I dont know anything about the thawing process. How long does it take? Do the embies change during the thaw? AFM - I'v...

Tiggs - i'm sorry to hear hear you're feeling yuk! I use to have real upset tummy problems (IBS) and I found the answer for me! I take Digestive Enzyme Supplements from Holland and Barret. I've not had tummy problems since. When I started the Metformin i felt queasy for the 1st few days then that stopped and i found with the HRT I was queasy at first but now all queasiness is away. I truely believe the Enz Supps make the difference. Might be worth a try? (i'm not on comission with H and B or any...

HI NBJ - Thanks so much for that info. I would LOVE my clinic to agree to bump my dose up to 12mg and get me a nice 8mm lining but they ABSOLUTELY refuse!! Aaaaaaaaaargh! This morning's scan shows that my lining hasnt grown again. Ive been on 6mg now for 14 days and NO growth! So i pushed and pushed for them to up the dose and they said no. They phoned back at end of day saying they're now gonna put me on an oestrgogen patch. I start that on wed and then have a scan the following monday. I hope ...
